AIBI the voice of the European large bakers industry

AIBI is the European Association of Industrial Bakers. It unites national associations of industrial bakers, as well as individual corporate members from countries without such associations.

Its core membership includes EU member states, the European Economic Area (including the UK), and neighbouring European countries, such as Ukraine. Through its current constituency, AIBI brings together approximately 500 bakeries. These bakeries range in size from 15 to several thousand employees. These bakeries may operate at the local, regional, European, or international levels.

AIBI’s scope covers all bakery activities, including the production of leavened and flat bread, Viennoiserie, cakes, and pastries at all processing stages, including finished and fresh products, as well as all forms of bake-off and frozen products.

AIBI’s purpose is to act as an interface between the industrial bakery sector and institutional and non-institutional stakeholders on all matters affecting the industry and bread’s place in society.

The AIBI office is located in the Maison des Brasseurs, one of the listed guild houses on Brussels’ Grand Place. Our location reflects the historical proximity of bakers and brewers, both of which depend on yeast fermentation. Bakers were one of the first guilds in Brussels.

AIBI is an AISBL (Association Internationale Sans But Lucratif), incorporated under Belgian law, with registration number RPM 0844 968 285. It has a mixed VAT status under registration number BE 0844 968 285. AIBI’s official registration documents and information are available from the Belgian Register of Companies and Associations: Banque Carrefour des Entreprises.

AIBI is also registered in the EU transparency Register under n° 558 35028 654-55
